Course Introduction

A doctoral research programme in Jainology and Comparative Religion & Philosophy — A scholarly programme exploring the rich philosophical, ethical and spiritual heritage of Jain religion alongside comparative study of major world religions and Indian philosophical systems.

Course Objectives

  • Develop a deep understanding of Jain philosophy, scriptures (Aagam) and ethics.
  • Engage in comparative study of religious and philosophical traditions of India and the world.
  • Train scholars in analytical and interpretive skills relevant to religious studies.
  • Promote values of non-violence, tolerance and intellectual inquiry.
  • Undertake original, publishable research that contributes new knowledge to the field.
  • Master advanced research methodology and academic writing.

Eligibility

Masters Degree in concerned subject with 55% marks and UGC NET (all categories i.e. NET JRF/NET/NET only for Ph.D.).
