Departmental Research Committee

Departmental Research Committee (DRC) ÔÇö Jain Vishva Bharati Institute, Ladnun.

Departmental Research Committee

Introduction

The Departmental Research Committee (DRC) is the department-level body responsible for the direct academic oversight of research scholars. It handles candidate onboarding—from topic finalization and synopsis approval to recommending Ph.D. registrations and co-supervisors. Additionally, the DRC conducts six-monthly progress evaluations, offering scholars hands-on academic guidance while operating strictly under RAC policies.

Key Functions

  • Scholarly Guidance: Reviewing Ph.D. research proposals, monitoring candidate progress through periodic reviews, and approving course work requirements.
  • Interdisciplinary Focus: Promoting collaborative research that bridges traditional oriental studies, Jainology, and contemporary scientific disciplines.
  • Research Support: Advising scholars and faculty on proposal development for external funding, as well as publication strategies in UGC-CARE listed journals.
  • Administrative Coordination: Acting as a bridge between departmental researchers, faculty supervisors, and the central R&D Cell to ensure smooth administrative execution.
